Hello friends,
I’m here to share all the information about the princess tea party we threw for our youngest daughter. Our baby girl, like many others, loves all things princesses. For her birthday this year, she asked for a princess-themed tea party. Our family is fond of tea parties; we have them often at home, and my daughter wanted to share one with her friends. With the theme in mind, I began searching for a date that would work with my family’s schedules. By the time we decided, the date was so soon that I had only nine days to finish all the decorations and bring everything and everyone together.
While looking for inspiration online, I stumbled upon the following party ideas here, here and here and ran with them. Luckily, since I throw tea parties often at home, I already had several supplies; but I still needed to purchase some items to complete the simple and elegant look I was going for. To find out what I did to make my daughter’s dream party a reality, read the details below.
Décor
• Tables
I used a tissue paper tablecloth I found from my local party supply store to cover the tables. I also found several cute vintage paper place settings, teacups, and saucers.
• Chairs
My daughter’s love of tutus inspired me to order a few and dress up the chairs with them and with beads. These also served as great party favors for the guests. They loved it!
• Backdrop
We used the fireplace as a backdrop for our dessert table. My oldest was so helpful in creating a balloon archway with a variety of colors that fit the theme. I also used a beaded garland and this DIY pom-pom garland, (tutorial here ).
• Miscellaneous
To complete the look, I bought some baby roses from our local grocers and placed them inside teapots and vases scattered around the room.
Dessert
• Cake
The cake was simple—a semi-naked cake with just a crown on the top.
Entertainment
• Princess visit
We had Cinderella visit for our princess tea party from Royally Yours, and it was so much fun. She played games, read stories, danced, and taught the children how to curtsy.
We already had her dress on hand, and it fit perfectly with the theme.
Here are some more pictures of our memorable day.
Our princess-themed tea party was a huge success, and I know it was a dream come true for my daughter. She’s been talking about it ever since.
As always, thank you for stopping by.
