Choosing to add a dark color to a space can create a whole new feel, while still feeling modern and classic. Come see these black room ideas that are inspiring our next project
Whether you’ve been around a while or you’re new here, you may have noticed that most of our home has light or even white walls, which I really do love!

I love the ability to add color by adding a decor piece – a vase, a side table, or some throw pillows.

However, lately I’ve been strongly considering black painted walls in several rooms of our home and I’m not not upset about it. I’ve found some amazing rooms in my search for black bedroom ideas and thought I’d share them with you.
Black Wall Ideas

Sherwin Williams announced their color of the year for 2021 is Urbane Bronze. Have you seen it? It’s a rich, deep color but doesn’t feel all the way black. Urbane Bronze is more of a brown-black, which I really like. I feel like this color brings warmth to a space, but doesn’t feel like you’re in a dungeon.

All I could say when I saw this black shiplap fireplace painted in Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black was, “Wow!”
My favorite part is that she not only has the Tricorn Black as her accent paint color, but she also was not afraid of black and white color in her interior design choices. The black beaded chandelier, the black and white checkered rug, and the tufted leather coffee table are stunning.

These cabinets from Studio McGee are stunning. Again, I love that there are even a few pieces of black decor within this space to help tie in the wall paint color. This black is Sherwin Williams Black Magic and from what I’ve been able to see, it’s a great “neutral” black with very little undertones that make it seem either too warm or too cool.
Adding the printed rug was a great decorating idea to bring in the black, but also a pop of color. I think this could work well in a bedroom or even a media room! (hint, hint)

Another great case for a black wall in a bedroom! Sherwin Williams Iron Ore is almost more of a deep gray than black which I feel would also be another good compromise if I end up backing out of a real deep black like Sherwin Williams Black Magic.
I love the wood bedside table, the grey/black bed and the leather pillow. It seems like black with wood accents is a popular “color scheme” and it has definitely been making me think more and more about painting a room or 2 in a black color!
Have you painted any rooms in your home a deep color? Stay tuned to see how we may transform a couple spaces this year!
I really enjoyed reading how having black in rooms like the bedroom could really make the fixtures stand out. We’ve been given some amazing wooden furniture by my father as a gift, and I wanted to redesign my house to be able to make them the star of the show. I’ll get a residential painter and hire them right away so we can have some help in painting our rooms with black wall paint.
So cool! I will be working on my rooms in the next few months too 🙂
