It’s been a bit since I’ve given an update but just wanted to pop in to share my Haven experience. A friend and I found out about the Haven conference about a year ago and decided it might be a good idea to go since it was an event geared toward our interests. When registration opened up this year, I registered without any hesitation. However a lot has changed since then and I have found myself questioning my why on more than one occasion. As the date grew near, I started getting increasingly anxious about the process. I shared my concerns with my husband and also heard from several people about not having the best experience their first time around.
About a week and a half before conference, I received an IM from a sweet lady, she said she saw my comment on a post about being nervous and wanted to assure me that conference will be a great time. This was such a sweet gesture and the confirmation that all will be well.
Haven’s motto this year is “Transform your heart, Transform your home” and boy, I came home with a full heart.
The opening speech was given by the very talented Egypt Sherrod. She shared some great life lessons including staying humble and supporting your fellow women by staying positive.
The workshops were very informative and I received so many tools to help me continue to achieve my goals.
Our luncheon speech on the second day was given by KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms. Her speech was so encouraging and was a reminder to me that I can achieve my goals even if I don’t fit the mold.
She was so gracious and kind and very personable.
It was great to meet in person and hang out with several friends that I’ve communicated with over time.
Our days were pretty fast paced with classes, meetings with vendors and grabbing a quick bite in between. It did get a bit overwhelming at times but I made sure to reflect and revisit my goals and why I was there.
One of the resounding messages I received at conference was to find my tribe. Find my tribe I did! It was great to make personal connections and share our hearts, our goals and dreams.
The planners of Haven put a lot of thought into the activities and I really felt it was well organized.
The Night In for Haven newbies was a great way to connect with new people.
I also really enjoyed the themed party.
During our closing session, we got the pleasure of hearing from Amy Howard of Amy Howard Home and A Maker’s Studio. This session was the culmination of everything great about Haven. Amy shared her life story with so much raw emotion. Her words of encouragement and empowerment gave me the last bit of word I needed to come back home and live out my purpose.
My Haven experience was everything I’d dreamed and hoped it will be. I met so many ladies who are achieving greatness. My time here is one I’ll cherish for a long time and I can’t wait to be back next year.
Thank you for stopping by. Till next time….
