Welcome to week 4 updates for the One Room I Challenge. We are at the half way mark for this challenge and I still have tons to do. You can catch up on previous weeks posts right here.

This past week, I finished up the feature wall. If you follow along on Instagram Stories, my wall color was a debate. I was fairly sure going into this that I would end up with Inkwell (SW6992). However, we made a switch last minute and we ended up with Peppercorn (SW7674).
I’m delighted with the outcome and contrast it provides.
In other updates, most of my supplies are coming in and I’m excited to get started on the remaining projects. The rug, cane webbing and throw pillow covers came in this week.
To do list:
Dresser and Nightstands:
The cane webbing arrived a couple of days ago and will get started on staining this weekend. I’m leaning more toward a muted light brown similar to my entryway console which I stained several years ago but don’t remember the exact combination of stains, so there some trial and error to figure out the perfect color.
Faux Beams:
We finally decided on the direction of the beams and are keeping the original plans. There is still so much rain in the forecast as such, Ill probably need to hold off on staining the beams at the moment.. I’m anxious to get started on this.
Table for Sitting Area:
I plan to start on this this week and use the same stain for dressers and nightstands.
Other Pending Items:
Figure out window treatment:
This has been a never-ending topic here. I would like to add trim around my windows but have not committed to it for fear of investing so much time and resources into it and not like it in the end. With that said, I would love to have Roman Shades but need to figure out the trim prior to investing in that too. So, the fiasco continues. If all else fails, I will just stick with drapes till I figure it out.
Order Wall Décor:
Several pieces for around the room but the main over the head board. So many styles to choose from but I think I have figure out my choice and can’t wait to share.
Hang Fan and TV:
A chandelier instead of a fan will be my style preference, however it is hard to justify with they Texas heat. So the fan wins. I have spent a considerable amount of time looking at fans and decided to go with something basic and simple. I attempted to hang a fan in a different room this week and failed miserably in the process. I will be getting someone in to help hang this one and TV. Standing on a ladder with 12 foot ceilings for hours at a time is not the best way to pass my time.
