It’s week three of the One Room Challenge. Thank you again for stopping by. If you are here for the first time, you can catch up on week one and two here. I’m working on a tween room makeover for my daughter.
This week had a few changes from the previous plan. Even with a mood board, sometimes the design doesn’t always go as planned. In week two, I shared with you my progress on the accent wall. The walls in the room are a light gray and I chose a mixed metal light fixture. I started having second thoughts because I felt it looked too dark and I knew it was time to switch up some options.
One Room Challenge || The Polka Dot Wall and Lighting – Revisited
I decided to paint the accent wall and ceiling white. I think it will look really good against the sunburst mirror that I’m also working on. It took a couple of hours to get it done but I’m happy with the way it turned out.
For lighting, we decided to go with just a brass instead of a mixed metal Sputnik light.
It should be arriving any day now and I’m super excited and can’t wait to put it up.
One Room Challenge || DIY Sunburst Mirror
I made progress on the DIY sunburst mirror I’m working on. It still needs a few updates including painting to be show ready but it’s turning out just as expected.
One Room Challenge || Accessories
The window treatments and accessories came in this week and they look even better in person. I have one last item to check off the list.
One Room Challenge || Week 4 Plans
Plans for week four include, finishing up the sunburst mirror and starting on a dresser and nightstand face lift. This should be the last major project for the challenge.
The One Room Challenge has been a great experience so far and has definitely taken me out of my comfort zone in a good way. If you would like to follow along on progress on other participants, you can check it out here.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next week.
