Hey Friends!! It’s week 6 and this is where the panic has officially set in. As you probably know, updates for week 5 were cancelled due to the unrest in the country. So grateful to Linda at One Room Challenge for making this decision. This was very helpful, as I was behind on several things and needed to catch up. You can catch up on previous weeks posts in the links below.

Project Updates:
Skim Coat
Last update, I shared that I will be doing wainscoting and trim on the wall. I also shared some inspiration and including this one.
The walls on new builds here in Texas have orange peel texture. As such any project with trim requires smoothing out the walls. I finally made the decision to install wall paper, which required me to tweak my original plan of using hardboard paneling to cover texture.
At this point, we were on Plan B which was skim coating the top half of the wall for wallpaper and installing panels below. The more I though it through, I decided that I would skim coat everything. It was messy process but glad that it is done.
Such a huge difference is texture for sure!
Wainscoting and Trim:
I have started this process but waiting on a delayed shipment for my chair rail. It should be in by Friday, so hoping to tackle in earnest over the weekend.
My wallpaper arrived and it is gorgeous. I opted for a peel and stick kind as I did not want to mess with adhesive after the rigor of skim coat.
While planning and measuring for this project, I am starting to think that I need to finish out the window trim. With two weeks left in the challenge, it adds another project to my list. I am hoping to tackle it but time will tell.
Accessories:
I found a few things around the house that I am going to be transforming. I caved and got the gather sign I talked about in a prior update. I will put on an adjacent wall.
I have had this glass display sitting in my attic for a while now and found a really cool tutorial by Mysha of Remington Avenue and will be transforming mine.
I am really loving the found pot look and will also be working on a terracotta pedestal vase that I found for cheap. Tutorial to come.
Styling is always the fun part, so looking forward to putting everything together
