Hi there, thanks for stopping by. I am excited to be a guest participant in the One Room Challenge for Spring 2019. If you are wondering what the One Room Challenge is, I was in the same place 3 years ago. I saw a post and decided to follow along. It has been inspiring to see designers showcase amazing talent during this 6-week event.
The Challenge encourages guest participants to follow along and share their designs. While I have been simultaneously working on a couple of projects for some time, I have decided to focus on one and get it DONE! Two weeks ago, I signed up for the Challenge on a whim. Voila! If you are like me, deadlines are great pressure prompters. They help me focus and achieve better quality results. So, here I am completely out of my comfort zone but excited to share my project with you over the next six weeks. I hope you enjoy the ride.
One Room Challenge || The Project
I decided to work on my daughter’s room. She is a tween going on twenty and very much an old soul. Creating a space that she can love for years to come is key for me.
I came across this room a couple months ago in a HGTV article and was immediately drawn in. I shared it with her and she is on board. Yay!
I also like this one featured on Two Thirty Five Designs.
My mood board incorporates a range of ideas culled from these and various other sources.
One Room Challenge || The Room
As you can see, the room is nothing exciting at the moment. It pretty much looks the way it was in our old home.
The only thing I have done so far is acquiring her bed. She had a twin in the past.
One Room Challenge || Week One
The plan this week is to put up the polka dot appliqué on the walls. I’m currently in busy season at work, so I don’t plan on doing much of the heavy lifting until week two or three. In the meantime, I’ve been curating accessories, bedding, and other fun items. I cannot wait to get started on my DIY sunburst mirror idea. I’m excited about the challenge and hope to see you back every week.
Thanks for stopping by.
