Spring Home Tour – Ideas and Tips in Season

March 28, 2020

Hey Friends! Happy Spring! I can’t believe Spring is already here.

This season is one of my favorite times of the year with flowers blooming, the earthy fragrance from fresh rain and the green all around. Today I am sharing with you my Spring Home Tour.

Welcome To My Spring Home Tour

Spring Tour Entry Way

Decorating for each season brings me a lot of joy. For my decorated for Spring tour, I kept things simple with soft colors to give it a light and airy feel.

Front Door

I started off with a DIY spring wreath at the front entrance. You can find the tutorial here. I found these beautiful boxwood plants for my planters that add a fresh pop of color. My tried and true lanterns finish out the space.

Entryway

I kept the entry way really simple and clean. The lamp and the mirror typically stay year round and I added these white rope baskets to soften the space.

My entry way bench got a bit of an update with some new pillows and I finally got to hang up some frames that kept with the simple and clean theme.

Family Room

I continued the soft colors and neutral palette in the family room using pillows in an off white and soft gold theme. If you have followed me for a while, you know I love using throw pillows to add texture, layering and color to my rooms.

Keeping this space comfy and welcoming is a top priority, as such you will find several baskets that hold pillows and blankets.

My favorite spot is the chair by the fireplace because it has a great view of the whole room into the kitchen. It is a great place for me to relax at the end of a long day, especially as I sit here and write this post.

The fireplace also had a simple and minimalist theme to it, with just the addition of some trailing greenery.

Tip: Books are a great way to add decor to your home. It’s also a great way to express yourself. Your local discount bookstores are perfect places to find coffee table books.

Kitchen

Fresh Peonies Kitchen

Nothing says spring like a fresh bowl of lemons :). As with the rest of the main living area, the kitchen has very minimal decor. The vase of peonies was a good statement piece. I love how it pairs well with the hurricane jar.

I added a few plants to add more green and some of my favorite recipe books to complete to the space. I’m big on mixing in real and faux plants and flowers in my spaces. It’s a budget friendly way to achieve the look I am going for.

Tip: Investing in faux greens and flowers are a great way to add more color and greenery to your home without having to go fresh every time.

Spring Home Tour Dining Room

Our breakfast nook got major refresh last fall when we switched out the table and chairs giving it an almost mid century modern look. We included a little bench for extra seating by the window, we plan to add a built in bench some day. The cherry blossoms add a Springtime vibe.

Tip: A bar cart is a great way to add decor and storage to your home. You can find a variety of styles at your local and big box home decor stores.

Guest Bedroom

Spring Home Tour Master bedroom

Our guest bedroom usually stays in tip top shape. We love welcoming family and friends to our home. As with all other areas of the home, the palette is neutral and soft.

My favorite item in the room is this woven Imani blanket with pom poms.

I also like this painting which I scored on clearance at one of my favorite stores. You can find me in this chair from time to time when I need a break from mom life 😉

Mudroom

Our final room of the tour is our mudroom, which got a small refresh for Spring as well. I added some fresh flowers and this beautiful sea-grass bag.

My favorite part of this space is the sign, I keep it there as a daily reminder that life is not perfect but what you make of it.

Here are some more pictures….

As a full time working mom doing virtual school, it is sometimes hard to do it all even with the best intentions. One of the projects I would love to work on is an accent wall in this room and give it a mini refresh. There are so many different options I have looked at including wall paper..stay tuned for updates on projects 🤞🏽

My mom is an avid gardener and growing up we had plants everywhere for nourishment and decor. I never really learned the skill from then. This year, I had a goal of starting a garden but after the snowstorm and life getting busy, I wasn’t sure it will be a realistic one. I think I’m more scared of failing at it 😬. So I decided to scrap it but I talked to some friends the other day and they suggested it could be a good stress reliever. Catch me in stories today as I talk about my plans.

Do you own a garden or raise plants?
