Hi Everyone! We are almost 3 months into the New Year! I think this is a great time to delve into my routine and how I structure my day.
My focus word for 2022 is “balance,” you can read all about it here. It has been important for me to create a routine that will help me achieve balance. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing some of my simple tips that have helped me thrive thus far.
TIP #1: THE WHY
Figure out the why of your daily routine and how it aligns with your overall values. It’s important to note that routines will only stick if the tasks are part of your core value system.
TIP #2: DEVELOPING CONSISTENCY
Consistency is key to creating a solid daily routine, which allows you to develop habits. Being consistent can alleviate stress and show up for yourself as well as others.
TIP #3: MAKING A TO-DO LIST
To-do lists are a great tool to keep you on track with your time. It helps you prioritize your tasks and can also alleviate stress. Checking in a few times during the day to see your progress can be quite helpful. Keep your to-do list small, so that you are able to manage and complete all of your tasks.
TIP #4: CREATING TIME BOUNDARIES
Time boundaries refers to how a person uses their time. To create healthy time boundaries, you must set aside time for each area of your life such as relationships, work, and hobbies. Establishing time boundaries is an area I tend to struggle with. However, it has been beneficial at times when I have implemented it.
TIP #5: CREATING ACCOUNTABILITY
Accountability can consist of checking in with a partner or revisting your tasks and to-do list for the day to ensure you are on track. Holding yourself accountable allows you to keep yourself moving in the right direction.
TIP #6: BEING REALISITIC
Creating a successful routine requires you to assess your needs during the time frame you are looking at. It helps to plan your time accordingly. When creating a routine, it’s important to make sure it is 100% doable for you. If you are not realistic with your time schedule, then you will burnout.
