Hey there!!! Today, I’m sharing my next big project. Our baby girl is getting older, and we decided it is time for our girl’s room makeover. When I created her nursery about 5 years ago, my main colors were pink, gray, and white with black furniture. A lot of love went into preparing her room, and we enjoyed it.
Here are some pictures of her original nursery.
We moved into our new home about a year and a half ago and converted her crib into a toddler bed. We kept it pretty much the same sans hanging drapes and wall art. She doesn’t sleep there often and typically ends up in her sister’s room or in our bed. (If you’re looking for more girl room makeover inspiration, check out her sister’s room here) . We have been prepping her for the transition. We are even giving up her rocker.
The Plan
I looked at different color schemes, but, ultimately, I decided on keeping the original colors with white furniture instead. She will be getting a white metal twin bed and other white pieces to complement the design.
I plan on creating a herringbone accent wall, and I am currently in the process of sourcing the materials. This will be another DIY project that I am excited to tackle. Here is the look I am going for here. I like that the herringbone wall adds some character to the space without being too formal.
I haven’t yet decided if I should paint the current dresser white or purchase a new one. Time will tell.
The glider is still present, and I still rock her to sleep ;). I’ve been talking to her about the need for the glider to go. This is a hard one for me too as we still sit there daily to bond over books and recap our day.
This mood board shows the bed, dresser, and accessories. It will all tie together with the soft pink and white color scheme. I am really excited about the herringbone wall which I think will finish the space. I am still contemplating adding a rug, but I am unsure at the moment.
This room has been in the making for the last year. As such, I’ve sourced and collected much of the furniture and accessories over time. I can’t wait to start the process. I hope you follow along. Thanks for stopping by.
